As a little girl, there was never a time I didn’t dream of being a princess. I was the girly girl in the family. The classic Disney princess movies, sparkly dresses glimmering with sequins, the tiara with those little plastic shining diamonds, ballet classes, pink tutus I could twirl in-you name it.
Being a princess, with a darling dress, crowned with a dazzling tiara… what girl wouldn’t want that! Well, what would be your response if I were to tell you that you are a princess? Perhaps you would be puzzled, maybe quite confused. You might not feel like a princess, maybe you don’t exactly think that blue jeans, sneakers and a messy pony tail is the “Royal type” And, you don’t ever remember having a grandmother that was secretly a queen, (ahem, Princess Diaries) and you might not remember being crowned princess after you found out this astonishing and exciting news… “So, how could I possibly be a princess?” you might ask.
You are a princess, because Jesus is your King. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God has picked you up from the street, washed away your sins and adopted you into his royal family. HE has accepted you into His Kingdom, Proclaimed you as His princess, crowned you with redemption and clothed you in grace. You are His beautiful daughter, His royal princess.
For He delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. – Colossians 1-13-14
